Unit 30 Task 1 M1

M1
Monitor- The limitations of the monitor is that the document you make on the screen may not print exactly the same as the image you see on the screen. This is a drawback to graphic designs on the monitor as the image may become discoloured and not as clear. Also the size of the monitor screen could be smaller than the size of the document that you want to produce. If you wanted to see the document full sized, then you would have to zoom into specific parts and the document may not be as clear as you wanted. The resolution of the monitor is displayed in pixels. You might be able to see the pixels on the screen.

Digital camera- The limitations of the digital camera is the pixel quality. The higher the megapixels the better the quality of the image displayed. Another limitation of this digital camera is that the SD card may not have enough memory for the images needed for your graphic designs. You would have to pay to increase the size of your memory card.

Scanner- The limitations of a scanner is that the scanner could be A4 size. This is a limitation because you could need to scan a document that is A3 sized. Also the glass on the scanner could have small marks on it and not look any different. However these marks would be scanned onto the document

Printer- The limitations of the printer could be that the image displayed on the monitor could get printed and the colours on the document could be different when printed. This is a limitation of the graphics design printing as the document printed could look different. Another limitation is that the printer could have poor quality ink so the printed product could look discoloured if the ink was cheap. Also you cannot print to the edge of the sheet. Another limitation is that you may not be able to print on thick paper or card as it will be too thick.

photoshop- The limitations of photoshop is that it is expensive. Also it takes a lot of time to learn how to use all of the tools on photoshop. This is also time consuming and you need to have the knowledge and patience to learn how to make use of the programme.

illustrator- The limitations of Illustrator is that it is expensive. Also it takes a lot of time to learn how to use all of the tools on Illustrator. This is also time consuming and you need to have the knowledge and patience to learn how to make use of the programme. Also you might not be able to create all the graphics that you want.

Unit 30 Task 2 P2

 P2

Graphic Type
Describe how the graphic is constructed and why you chose the graphic type
How will the final file be saved?
Internet Graphic
Bitmap
Bitmap graphics are structured as little squares of colour that make up and image. These are known as pixels and make the image clearer. I chose this graphic type for the internet graphic as it makes the image look better online and the size of the graphic will not be enlarged and won’t become pixelated.
I would save the final file as a JPEG.
Van sign graphic
Vector
Vector Graphics are structured as points, lines or curves. They do not produce pixels when the image is enlarged. I would choose this for the van sign as the company logo and images would be clearer and the outline of shapes would be clearer.
I would save the final file as PDF.
Brochure
Vector and Bitmap
For the brochure I would use both vector and Bitmap graphics as for the writing I would use vector and for the images it would be bitmap. Also for the company logo I would use vector graphics.
I would save the final file as a PDF as it would keep the file in the original format.
